Destruction

I'm not against guns, but I feel in a modern society (where our kids lives are at stake) assault weapons are weapons of mass destruction.

Some states are trying to end Planned Parenthood if the are dumb & insensitive enough do it, it should be replaced it with planned adulthood.

Congress has been afraid to pass background check gun laws, because of the slippery slope. Pretty soon we'll want background checks on them.

    1. It should be a requirement for work in our government.

  2. The politicians should be held to the same amount of invasive policies as a minimum wage worker-drug tests and background checks and credit checks as well.

    1. They should also get IQ tests. Or get checked to make sure they're not sociopaths.

    1. We've gone so far backward as a country and it's against what the majority wants! We are primary and corporate driven.

  4. They'd just fake the background check anyway

  5. There really should be some sort of class you must take and pass to enter adulthood.

    1. I'd be left back, but still ahead of most of our politicians.

  6. Why aren't there new people who want to run for office? We see the same faces, taking a cooling-off rest but then coming back again.

    1. It's because of the primary system, where only the real zealots vote, especially in the conservative south. Also big money, for the most part, only supports candidates that have regressive agendas -- so they can get richer. They also want to keep the electorate uniformed to they can keep getting the people to vote against themselves. It's a sham.

    1. If you have nothing to hide, and you want to lesson the opportunity for our children to be at risk from the insane, there is not a reason on earth not to have background checks, except for greed.

    2. I also truly don't get the opposition to background checks.

    3. Oh, and I must also say I'm a conservative.

    4. You're a smart sensible conservative. If we have more smart sensible politicians on both sides of the aisle we might even get something done.

  9. assault weapons is when the conservatives (should lose but rarely don't) all respect when it comes to their "guns are self-defense" logic. When that last time a guy carrying an AR-15 saved a life in the cities of America?

If you need an assualt rifle for self-defense, you don't have a weapons problem you need to move somewhere else.

  11. Unfortunately, idiots are also weapons of mass destruction.

  12. Yes, I vote for Planned Adulthood, background checks on everyone who plans to become an adult, and prohibit them from ever owning an assault weapon.

  13. If you're an adult you shouldn't want an assault weapon.

  14. A background check should be welcome, as far as I'm concerned. Slippery slope is a term that just doesn't fit in that sentence to me, 'common sense' does though.

    1. Common sense is something our political system no longer has room for.

  15. Assault weapons are needless to everyone except those in law enforcement and the military as far as I can see. But.... they do get into the wrong hands
