Buying

The NRA won't be happy until it's as easy to buy guns as it is to buy congressmen.

Not making it harder for guns to be in the hands of the insane is almost as insane as allowing our laws to be in the hands of congress.

A strong bipartisan effort now means that both parties worked very hard (together) not to pass a bill 90% of the people are in favor of!

    1. Thanks. The gun lobby makes me get so angry. I won't own a gun but 'm not against guns being own by other people, but we need some laws that make sense.

  3. The last one should not include work, as I'm not sure what little they would qualify.

  4. Don't the bipartisan efforts represent all people??? I'm shocked and dismayed to hear otherwise. Shocked and dismayed... Okay, not really shocked.

    1. Bipartisan is a word that is in danger of being removed from the dictionary.

  5. When we owned a gun shop, it was pretty hard for a criminal to buy a hand gun. We haven't been in the business for years and I really don't keep up with the laws. I do know I kept our books in tip top shape because you never knew when you were going to be inspected.

    1. I don't think the problem is gun shops as much as gun shows. They do very little to screen people. Also some of the resell laws are non existent. We need sensible gun laws for this century. But the NRA seems to be unwilling to bend. They are only doing themselves and responsible gun owners harm.

  6. And one wonders how many hours our politicians spent sleeping (alone or not) during discourse of said bills.

    1. They don't even read the bills. Their staff does and makes recommendations. So some have no idea what they're voting on.

  7. It's funny to see conservatives whine for bi-partisanship with Obama wants something progressive. But when they want something regressive, compromise is treason.

    1. Regressive is the right word. Compromise is not only treason it's non existent.

    1. Not the analogy that I would have thought of immediately but it's very appropriate.
