Balance

As I get older I realize there is balance in life. Just as it's become more difficult to meet a pretty woman… my sight has gotten worse.

Just a thought. If people could live forever would there still be a need to believe in God?

Jesus was very jealous. He broke up with his wife because when they made love she kept yelling out his father's name.

  1. "Do you really want to live forever and ever?" Sorry whenever someone says living forever that song pops into my head.

I really look forward to your posts they make me giggle so much!

    1. Thank You. I hope I can keep it going. It's hard to keep writing these things, but it's worth it for you kind comments.

  2. I have found as I get older I mellow out. Things that once made me furious just make me smile now. I guess that is a balance of sorts.

    1. That's great balance. I find that things that made me furious when I was young make me even angrier. I find that laughs are much more important and never lose their power.

  3. ha. the lack of sight though makes it a bit easier, especially if you have a good imagination, you know...smiles.

    1. That's funny and true. I'm not sure if that worked in a positive way for Edgar Allen Poe. Time is our worst enemy and our best friend.

  4. But then they have lack of sight too, so it kinda of evens out. Not sure I'd want to live forever either.

    1. I'd love to live forever as long as I had health care and several thousand pair of underwear.

  5. Guess you never would get over that God complex.

    1. Yes, that's true. I really don't believe in God, but I wish I did. I really do. I want an after life, I want to know who killed Kennedy? What my kids and grand kids (If I ever have them) are doing. I want to see if a Twinkie will ever go bad. Actually that would give me a good reason to live forever. I might be able to work that into a tweet or something. Who knows. We all do the best we can and hope that along the way we make things a little better for those who come after us, even it's being on our death bed and hiring a cleaning lady

  6. I think that if people lived forever, they'd have even more reason to believe in God. Imagine the unending suffering.

I'm thinking it will be good when the hearing goes too. An man/woman could be much more enjoyable when you can't hear what they're saying.

  7. That first reminds me of something George Burns said when he was asked why he never dated women his age.
He replied (and I paraphrase), there aren't any my age left.

  8. I remember an old video game ending where (you could choose multiple characters) a character had wished to live forever. The next scene was them in space after Earth was destroyed eons later wishing they didn't ask for eternal life.
