Life

My Philosophy; Life is a gift better left unopened.

I don't mind life it's the hours I can't stand.

I cheated life the other day by living.

    1. To me it's the morning hours. I love staying up late. As pretty as the morning are, I'd rather have pictures of it, than experience it.

  2. Yeah those hours can really be a bitch, enough to make one twitch.

    1. I have a line that says, "Life's a bitch and then you realize you're eleven." That sort of says it.

  3. They say life is short but it's the longest thing you'll ever do. Unless you count going to the DMV, which feels like two lifetimes.

    1. That's funny and very true. I think a day at the DMV qualifies as being reincarnated.

  4. Hey John,
No matter how long you live, it seems like a blink of the eye.

I'll have to look up your book. I would think being a stand-up would be the most difficult thing in the world. I guess it must come naturally to some people. If I try to be funny, it just sounds corny.

    1. I think we all find things more difficult that other things. For an example it's much easier for me to do standup than to be an actor. We do what comes naturally for us, or we try to. It's a struggle but no more than anything else that someone strives to do.

The longer you live that blink becomes faster and faster.

I think you'd really like the book, it really tells you what it was like to be comic back then, and it's a fun easy read. At least that's what I've been told and the comics from that time love. If you get it, please let me know what you think.

  5. I think sometimes we don't appreciate life until it is taken from us or from someone we love dearly and then we learn to appreciate it more; I think that happens too as we age and see that we are on the other side of it as opposed to when we were 20 years old (oh to be 20 again!)

  6. You're exactly right. Who was it that said, "You is waisted on the young."

    1. Cheating death is even better. Right now I'd just like to cheat a cold that keeps coming back,

  8. Yeah, they never said life would be easy, but they also never said it'd be damn hard. My philosophy: Life is hard. Eat chocolate. Dance it off.

    Be well, John.

  10. I think we cheat life every day.... thank goodness. Better than cheating on our spouces.... now that could be a deal breaker.

    1. When I was married I never cheated on my spouse, but when you'r chained to the wall in the basement you don't have many opportunities.

  11. There was a time when I asked all sorts of questions about life. Then I gave birth and I had no more questions. I'm glad I opened the gift.

  12. I never gave birth, although I'm pretty sure I was a result of it. I think my mother would have preferred that her body was not the wrapper.
