My husband says that the stomach acid is the hardest part for him about getting older. I used to add fresh peppers to almost everything for him. Now, not so much. But now and then it's worth the pain he says.
The hardest part of getting older for me is realizing it. Tell him to try Zinc Carnosine (Swanson makes it) and DGL a licorice extract that and not eating or drinking for 3 years. Seriously that stuff helped me.
I like the depression one. I like witty sayings about depression because so many say they have it. If they would just laugh a little they wouldn't have it.
Laughing is the best way to cure depression. And laughing about your own releases it. Plus the loser is always funnier than a chapter who wins all the time.
luckily our stomach produces a new lining very often, that way no one can call me unproductive. smiles.
The problem with that is if the opening from your stomach widens that stomach lining forms in your esophagus and leads to Barrets Syndrome, which I have and can be painful and make for unfunny boring responces. But it also produces lots of lines for blogs and tweets.John
That damn stomach acid will burn its way to every major organ. Gotta eat Tums like their candy.
Check out my response to Anne above, there some stuff that helps me. Somedays my heart burn gets so bad I can heat my house with it.
I am with Mazi. I get sick of people saying they are so depressed. If they would just get up off their arses and do something, .... they might not be so depressed.
I know some people who a clinically depressed and it's not a matter of getting off their asses. Case in point Rich Jeni, a comic friend of mine. Who worked all the time. He was a brilliant comic. He was clinically depressed and blew his brains out with a gun i the shower. There are some people who can't get jobs or a job that will pay enough for their family. My last girlfriend died at 42 from Breast Cancer. She spent many days depressed. I myself have fun with depression because it suits my comic character. I agree there are people who if they just got out and exercised would be able to lose most of their depression. It's a tough call. I wish we were all happy. Rodney Dangerfield suffered from real depression. It wasn't until his 80's that he was put on Prozac and came out of his depression. Anyway, it's not a black and white issue. Some people need to got off their asses while others need another kind of help. With me it's just sticking with my comic persona. I appreciate and respect your opinion. Dialogue is good.
But then that muscle definition won't last long as you have to have some bypass which breaks through the muscle, ruining them and then when you get the bill you not only will be depressed but also have increased stomach acid from stress, damn took that too literally...lol
That was exactly my doctors diagnosis so you are on the money.
As a writer, I have plenty of "definition." Too bad none of it is physical.
Thats's funny and you're right. We need to put weights on our fingers or something.
I've tried, the ladies don't like artery definition.
You just have to find a woman who is into Vampire movies. I think they like a man with thick strong arteries.
Well, my hubby has really big veins. I'm jealous because it's so much easier for him to donate blood.
Yes, it's easier to donate blood and to get blood tests. When I get a blood test I feel a voodoo doll. They have to poke around forever. My bone marrow produces blood faster than they can get out of my body.
I never said I could spell. I'm the worst. If I was a tattoo artist my customer's bodies would be full of tattoos with X's through them.
I can relate sometimes to the last statement about depression, but do take heart, it is sunny out (at least here :)betyt
Sunny dose help with depression, so does all your responses. I thank you. Have a great sunny day.
I'm really mot that dresses. Writers and comics for the most part have low grade depressions. Comedy for us comes from pain but using it releases that pain. All that and more is in my book,as I shamelessly promote it under my shrinks orders, since selling them lessons my depression, I'm only joking. I just neede to get the plug in to get him off my back. By the way Pat, really helped me with an animated me doing standup. We just have to figure out a way to post it. You have a great day
I tried using Siri for the comment above. It's the only thing that makes more mistakes than I do.
I relate to all you say, and joke, about depression - been struggling with it all my life. Sometimes those of us who've been through it are also the ones able to experience true laughter and joy.xoRobyn
It's a real disease but because it makes one not want to move, those who suffer from it came come off as lazy to those who don't suffer from it. I think one of the reasons comics laugh so hard when they are together is because of that shared depression or feelings of being different in someway. When we are together those laughs are cathartic.
