Unfortunately for the Republican Party a few good apples can't unspoil the bunch.
If Lincoln had to deal with Speaker Boehner and the Tea Party he would have shot himself.
Republicans believe the right to life liberty & the pursuit of happiness begins at conception unfortunately they believe it ends at birth.
hahaha...i love good political humor...those first two are awesome...lol...yes i imagine he might have...smiles.
ReplyDeleteI'm just poking fun at the obvious. I wish we had a viable Republican party that would were willing to compromise, like our congress was meant to do, in order to work.
Deleteah i agree....our politicians are firmly entrenched in their own parties sometimes at the detriment of the country...ok, many times...
DeleteLincoln would have shot himself way before Boehner and the Tea Party.
ReplyDeleteVery good point! With all the stuff that happened in the ensuing years, especially by his own vice president, who literally set the south back a hundred years.
DeleteI'm going to use that last one!
ReplyDeleteI wish the line was so true. It didn't take much imagination to write it I literally just played with words that were out there.
DeleteLicoln would've done it about in the 1930s min 1964 max.
ReplyDeleteHe would have shot, his vice president, Andrew Johnson first. The guy just about tore apart Lincoln's policies in the south.
DeleteBut with that big ass hat, he may have missed his head, at least he'd have air conditioning though
ReplyDeleteThat's right. That set me up for a good tweet Pat, thanks.
DeleteNo, I'm not going to rant today.
ReplyDeleteIf Lincoln could put up with wife, Mary Todd, Boehner would be a breeze.
I guess I did laugh, Pat emailed and said, "Quite the rant today." He sent your email and I'll write as soon as I have time.
Marry Todd was quite a woman, to put up with a brilliant but bi-polar husband. Let's all have a good weekend.
DeleteAre there any good apples in the Republican party?
ReplyDeletexoRobyn
Actually, there's one I really really like. Jon Huntsman. (I think that's how you spell his name). He's a moderate, actually worked in the Obama administration. I also like Chuck Hagle and a few others, who tend to be moderate. Even the former head of the Republican Party John Steele (again I'm not sure of the spelling and I'm too lazy to look it up) has a very common sense attitude to things.
DeletePS I mean, amongst the politicians. I know plenty of good Republicans who aren't in positions of authority.
ReplyDeleteYou are right about that. The bane of the Republican party is the Koch brother's supported (phony grass routes organization) the Tea Party. They have held our country hostage for some prehistoric ideology. If we had initiated their policies we'd be in a serious depression right now. The Supreme Court had their share of deaths on their hands. Bush vs Gore decision cost the lives of American Soldiers, not to mention the lives lost by citizens of Iraq. I have to stop ranting.
